With Robinswood GC’s membership in AGLF, the groundwork has been laid to establish the third tournament in the Asia-Pacific Circuit in Thailand, following those in Indonesia and the Philippines. AGLF is preparing for the Indonesia Women’s Open with Indonesia Golf Association (IGA) in January, 2025 and also Philippines Ladies Masters with Ladies Pilipinas Golf Tour (LPGT) in February, 2025. With the membership of Robinswood GC, AGLF is looking forward to the creation of a tournament in Thailand.

AGLF is also working with TALGA to revive the Thailand Ladies Open, a tournament that was previously awarded the national title in Thailand. With Robinswood GC’s membership, discussions for hosting the event have gained momentum, aiming for a potential launch in December 2025.

The Thailand Ladies Open, which began as part of the Ladies Asia Golf Circuit in 1987, was held as a Ladies European Tour (LET) event in 2005 and continued as part of the Ladies Asian Golf Tour from 2006 to 2013 before being suspended. The tournament has a strong connection with Korean players, with Kang Soo-yeon winning as the first Korean in 2000, followed by victories from Park Hee-young in 2006 and Shin Jiyai in 2007. Lee Jung-min also claimed the trophy in 2010.

AGLF was established in 2020 to promote the development of women’s golf in the Asia-Pacific region. Founding members include Chairman Heo Kwang-soo (former president of the Korea Golf Association), Chairman Kim Sang-yeol (former KLPGA president), Chairman Kim Jung-tae (former chairman of Hana Financial Group and current KLPGA president), and Chairman Park Eun-gwan (representative of Simonne Group). Corporate members include the newly joined Robbinswood GC, GA Korea, Sky72, Hoban Construction, Yeoun, Yousung CC, and Seolhaewon CC (all from Korea), as well as Pondok Indah GC and KMK Group (Indonesia), Golfzon China (China), and Poscon Group (Philippines).

AGLF aims to contribute to balanced development through smooth communication among AGLF member companies and related golf organizations in the Asia-Pacific region. It announced plans to launch the Asia-Pacific Circuit, starting with tournaments in Indonesia and the Philippines in the first quarter of 2025, with a goal of hosting up to eight tournaments by 2028. Additionally, six more women’s golf tournaments are planned in other Asia-Pacific countries.
